    US and Canada Market: Change to Winter Time

    • US and Canada will change to Winter Time on 5th Nov, 2017(Sunday). From 6th Nov, 2017(Monday), US and Canada Stocks Market trading hour will shift for 1 hour, opening at 10:30pm HKT and closing at 5:00am HKT the next day.

    SGX Securities Trading Hours changes

    • From 13 November 2017, SGX Securities Trading Hours will be changed with the introduction of a midday trading break from 12:00 to 13:00. During the break, investors may manage their orders. The continuous trading will resume at 13:00.

    Extension of the HKFE T+1 Session on Equity Index Futures to 1:00 a.m.

    • On Monday, 6 November 2017, Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE) is going to extend the T+1 Session from 11:45 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Equity Index Futures (Hang Seng Index (HSI), Hang Seng China Enterprises Index (HHI), Mini-HSI and Mini-HHI futures).

    Change of Settlement Cycle for United States and Canada

    • According to the US market authorities and the Canadian Markets Association, the standard settlement cycle for the United States and Canada transactions adopted an amendment from three business days, known as T+3 to two business days, T+2.

       

      The amended rule will be beginning on Sept. 5, 2017.

    • This is a gentle reminder of our previous letter on 20 June 2017 regarding the Client Information Update Exercise.

       

      The Client Information Update Exercise aims to provide a more thorough investment service to you, with your most updated account profile, financial capability, investment objectives, investment experience, etc.

       

      Please complete the enclosed “Client Information Update Form” with other documents as requested and return to our Customer Services Department on or before 30 August 2017 by hand, by post to Customer Services Department, 30/F, Three Pacific Place, 1 Queen's Road East, Hong Kong, by email at customerservices@kimeng.com.hk or by fax at 2537 1548.

       

      If the Form has already been completed and sent to our office, please accept our sincere thanks and appreciation and kindly ignore this reminder.

    The Common Reporting Standard (“CRS”)

    • Thank you for your support to Kim Eng Securities (Hong Kong) Limited and/or Kim Eng Futures (Hong Kong) Limited.

       

      To help protect the integrity of tax systems, governments around the world are introducing a new information-gathering and reporting requirement for financial institutions. This is known as the Common Reporting Standard (CRS).

       

      Pursuant to the legal provisions for exchange of financial account information provided under the Inland Revenue Ordinance (Cap.112), we are required by law to perform due diligence on account holders from whom Self Certification Forms and / or further information (if necessary) are collected to keep informed of the tax status of the account holders.

       

      We are required to report the information regarding the account holder(s) and any reportable accounts (including, but not limited to, tax residency and tax identification number etc.) to the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department (“IRD”).

      In order to confirm your status under the CRS, please complete the enclosed “Self-Certification Form” and return to our Customer Services Department on or before 15 October 2017 by hand, by post to Customer Services Department, 30/F Three Pacific Place, 1 Queen's Road East, Hong Kong, by email at customerservices@kimeng.com.hk or by fax at 2537 1548.

       

      If we do not hear from you, we will determine your tax residency based on the information we currently hold, which may be out of date.  So we strongly encourage you to respond as soon as you can to make sure our reporting is based on accurate and up to date information.
